Hot Biscuits & Gravy
“a new dimension in New Orleans party music is born”
The Hot Biscuits & Gravy were formed in 2004 on the initiative of Jan Wouters with the intention of them joining the already successful N’Awlins BrassBand to bring another dimension to their music. The Hot Biscuits & Gravy worked as background choir on the recording of the CD - Bourbon Street Parade. The reactions were overwhelming after this recording and their first live performances. Even more then before came the emphasis on New Orleans Party Music & Entertainment. In the mean time The Hot Biscuits have become an important part of the N’Awlins Show. They are successfully performing in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and England.
The Hot Biscuits and Gravy consist of:
* Elaine McKeown – Ireland
is probably the most experienced and well known singer. She sings with the Ginger Pig Band from England and is the face of the international REnew Orleans Jazz formation Slipper-1. Elaine has performed and toured with the likes of living legend Sammy Rimington and has recorded with the ambassador of New Orleans Lillian Boutté.
*Michelle Moore - United States of America
has worked in the POP and Rock circuit in San Fransisco, Berkley and Ann Arbor. Now she has moved to Europe she has found her place in Jazz and The Hot Biscuits.
*Daisy Wilting – Netherlands
is the newest member of The Hot Biscuits. As well as her work in BigBand era and dance music she has grownup as a “wedding singer”.
*Loes in het Ven – Netherlands
is well known in this region (South of the Netherlands) as one half of the girl group NITSJ. Working as a model she is also the face of MILANO.
*Hans Klinkers – Netherlands
is the Gravy of the group. Many years active as saxophone player from the BrassBand and crooner in heart and soul. Hans has worked as studio artist in diverse background choirs on recordings. He was the face of the vocal group “The Spirtuan Four” in the sixties.
